As you follow the itinerary by electric bike, you will pass through the coastal villages of Mauritius, where fishermen and local figures will exchange with you a moment of sharing, a word, a smile. And then, this turquoise lagoon with its intense color will not let you go during the whole ride along the road. On the horizon, the Morne Brabant with the most beautiful wild beaches of Mauritius, its filaos, coconut trees, and its white and fine sand will delight you. The traditional wooden fishing canoes are wet near the shore, like a picture of a postcard typical of the Indian Ocean, paradise.
At the foot of the mythical Morne Brabant mountain, you will probably be touched when our guide will tell you the legend related to the period of slavery of this basalt block classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2008. The itinerary of the Morne trip in half a day by electric bike
The electric bike ride starts from the “Place du Moulin” in Bel Ombre on the paths of the south-west coast of Mauritius. Then, we set off toward Baie du Cap, an authentic Mauritian fishing village where you can visit the monument erected in the name of Captain Flinders. Our guide will tell you the story of this British cartographer.
Then, we arrive at Macondé, an impressive hairpin curve. You will have the possibility to climb on the imposing volcanic rock that overflows the sea from where you can admire a splendid 360 degrees panoramic view on the lagoon.
After taking unusual photos of this unique place in Mauritius, you will drive along the Southwest coast, one of the most beautiful Mauritian roads.
You will be seduced by its wild beauty, the purity of colors, it’s beautiful white and fine sand beaches, its vegetation and its turquoise and transparent lagoon at the same time. Hair in the wind, riding an electric bike on this road is a real happiness. Arriving at La Prairie, you will be surprised by this expanse of beaches and filaos, revealing the majestic mountain of Morne Brabant.
The ride to La Prairie takes all its meaning when we know that at the time it was crossed by slaves. This panorama is one of the most beautiful that you will have the chance to see during your stay in Mauritius. We will continue our tour to the picturesque village of Le Morne, where the fishing culture is firmly rooted in Mauritian traditions and we will turn around to return to our starting point in Bel Ombre on our electric bikes.

Practical information
A safety vehicle will be accompanying the group all the way, and our qualified Mauritian guide will comment on the history of the different strategic places visited. He will give you sufficient time to enable you to admire the beautiful landscapes all along the route.

Duration:About 3 hours. Throughout the course, the guide will propose stops at strategic points to tell you the history or anecdotes of the place, take a photo break or enjoy a moment of relaxation.

To plan:Sports shoes, sunscreen, raincoat, and sunglasses.
You will have the option to buy small local souvenirs, bring money as the credit card cannot be used.

In case of torrential rain, we reserve the right to cancel the trip. However, in case you wish to cancel or postpone your trip to a later date,
you have three alternatives:

Once the trip has started, it cannot be reimbursed in case of bad weather. However, we will do our best to adapt to the situation in order to make the course as pleasant as possible. (It is important to have a raincoat).
Memories
Photos of your trip in Mauritius will be available on a CD at Rs 800.
To make the ride in good conditions, children will have to be more than 1.47m high and know how to ride a classic bike.
THE HISTORY OF THE MORNE BRABANT MOUNTAIN
O Freedom!
The mountain Morne Brabant is a real symbol: that of freedom. Part of the spectacular peaks of Mauritius, it is turned to the open sea to the southwest of the island and flows into the sea. From the top of its 556 meters, it projects its proud gaze beyond the horizon, loving dreams, escape and freedom. The Morne Peninsula has been classified as a World Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO since 2008.
Until the abolition of slavery, this steep place would have served as a refuge for escaping slaves, they would have lived in its summits, braving the dangers for a little freedom. On the day of the declaration of the abolition of slavery, the authorities came to tell them the news. The “brown” slaves who did not believe a word of this decision would have preferred to jump off the mountain and kill themselves.
Today, the ascent of this symbolic mountain of Morne Brabant is a beautiful route to make on foot. You can stop halfway or go to the top of this mountain, where there is a cross in memory of the slaves. On the mountain, we find endemic plants including the flower of Trochetia, which became the emblem of Mauritius. It is better to be accompanied by a guide. To your sneakers!
